Candle FAQs

What are your candles made of?

Our candles are made with 100% soy wax produced within the Unites States, made with US-grown soybeans. The crackling wooden wicks we use in our candles are 100% natural wood from sappy fruit trees, sustainably sourced in the United States. Our fragrances come from US based companies that specialize in phthalate-free fragrance oils.

How do I keep my candle burning properly?

We have done countless hours, days, weeks, and months creating beautiful candles that give you a super cozy feeling every time you light it. While wooden wicks are sometimes finnicky, it is important to follow the candle care card that is provided in each order/purchase. To get the most of your candle, please follow the below guidelines:

  • Be sure to remove most of the charred pieces off prior to lighting will help keep a consistent burn. Remember - burnt wood will not relight!
  • Wooden wicks take slightly longer to catch than normal cotton wicks. Hold your flame to the wick for 5-10 seconds, until the wick fully catches.
  • Allow candle to burn so that the melt pool reaches the edge of the jar every burn - if you do not, tunneling will occur and will affect future burning.

How long do the candles burn?

Each time you burn one of your candles, you should not be exceeding four hours at a time. Our overall burn time depends on your usage, but the average burn time is listed below:

  • 7oz Amber Jar: 40-50hrs
  • 9.5oz Tumbler Jar: 50-60hrs
  • 12.5oz Apothecary Jar: 60-70hrs

What is this bright white wax on my candle?

You are experiencing frosting! This is completely normal and does not affect your candle at all. This is a natural occurrence of soy wax - once the candle is used and the wax is melted, it will return to it's normal coloring.

Why does it look like my candle has an air bubble on the side of the jar?

This is called a wet spot, but the wax isn't actually wet! What a silly name for it. This is perfectly normal, especially in colder months. This is just a spot on the candle that has separated from the jar, however this does not affect the performance of your candle at all.

Wax Melt FAQs

What are your wax melts made of?

Our wax melt bars are made with 100% soy wax produced within the Unites States, made with US-grown soybeans. Our fragrances come from US based companies that specialize in phthalate-free fragrance oils.

Can I use another company's wax warmer with your wax melts?

We get it - switching from that company to a small business for your wax melt needs probably means you have a decent collection of warmers. As a former purchaser of that company, I can confidently say that our wax melts have been in fact tested in those warmers, and they work wonderfully! Any electric warmer or tea light warmer will work with our wax melts.

How do I remove the wax from the melter?

There are several ways that you can easily remove the wax from your melter!

  • Cotton ball method - once the wax has melted, you can plop a cotton ball or two into the tray (or more depending on how big of a melt you have going) to soak up the wax! Please safely toss the cotton balls away into the trash - reminder that the wax may be hot, so please be careful!
  • Pop out method - if your melter has a removable tray, you can turn your melter on, and after 5-10 minutes, you should be able to pop the hardened wax out of the tray
  • Freeze method - if your melter has a removable tray, you can pop the tray into your freezer, which will cause the wax to harden further and in fact shrink a little bit, making it easy to then pop out of the tray!
